Cleveland Cavaliers forward Max Strus will miss at least six weeks with a right ankle sprain, the team announced Saturday.
Strus sustained the injury in individual workouts on Thursday. An X-Ray and MRI confirmed the severity of the sprain.
The 28-year-old will be reassessed after six weeks of treatment and rehabilitation.
Strus started 70 games for the Cavaliers in the 2023-24 season, averaging 12.2 points, 4.8 rebounds and four assists while converting 35 per cent of his three-point attempts.
The Cavaliers open up the regular season on Wednesday against the Toronto Raptors at Scotiabank Arena.
